Description

Maintenance & Support Engineer -Job Location: Dubai -Transaction processing applications & Payment clearing house functions The candidate is responsible to ensure that the agreed service levels and scope of support as set out in the Maintenance and Warranty Service Plans are met. Responsibilities: •The provision of on-site and on-call assistance. •First level analysis of any issue. •Reporting any issue to the Hong Kong based Development Team. •Carrying out an analysis of any issue as directed by the Development Team. •Testing any patches in the test environment, with the support from the development team. •Applying patches to the production environment. •Monitoring the ‘health’ of the Application. •Carrying out periodic preventative and maintenance activities. •Assisting in software release planning, change control and change management. •Submitting a daily and monthly issues log to the line manager, senior management and the client Requirements: •Be willing to travel as required by the job. •Be willing to work extended hours with support mobile phone when required. •Have good written and oral English language skills. •Have good communication skills. •Have a clean or near clean driving licence. •Be able to interact at a professional level with the client and their representatives. •Be able to discuss any support issues and explain the resolution. •Have experience of analysing technical issues and documenting the same for use by the Development Team and for use as reference material. •Be able to analyse problems quickly and thoroughly. Experience: You must have at least 5 years extensive knowledge and experience in the following areas: •The support and maintenance of mission critical applications. •Payment clearing house functions. •Transaction processing applications. •Card production and card management applications. •Point of sale terminals and the related software. •On-line and batch mode transaction processing. Technical Competency: You should have hands-on experience and knowledge in: •BEA Weblogic and Portal version 9 administration. •HPUX version 11 or above and Windows 2003 Server. •Oracle 10g DBMS and Real Application Cluster administration. •PLSQL/SQL review and tuning. Applicants who have experience in the following areas will be preferred: •HP software; like Data Protector, Command View with Continuous Access. •Knowledge on Active Directory, Apache, Cognos and Oracle Financials administration.
